For the sake of education and peace-of-mind, this company provides a sample contract and quote calculator on their website. In exchange for a $75 administration fee, they also offer a pro-rated refund if the initial 30 days have expired.

Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

My sprinkler was repaired within a few days of filing my claim with SHW. The sprinkler contractor was really nice and explained everything to me. He made sure I was satisfied with his work before collecting payment from me.

Its REALLY BAD. Do NOT buy this. They do not cover ANYTHING. Everything is "not covered". Its really a rip off. I have never posted any reviews about any company before. But I want to warn you, do not buy from here. They keep you on wait for hours for authorization, and interpret every issue as "leak" which is not covered. Check it out yourself: 6.3.6. Air Conditioning (Central). This Agreement covers the primary floor air conditioning unit of the covered home only, provided that the air conditioning unit does not exceed a five (5) ton capacity. Don't waste your hard earned money on this company. I switched from 2-10 home warranty for a more affordable plan. Well, you get what you pay for. My upstairs A/C quit working in late spring. Called Select HW, and they said they set up a tech to come out. After 24 hrs, no show, no call, no nothing. I called the company they set me up with. The rude person I spoke with said they turned down the work order. I called select and they had no idea, they went on to ask if I knew anyone close by that accepted them????? What! It's selects job to find these service techs. After a handful of phone calls, arguing and wasted time we finally get someone to come out. To wrap it up, our bill... Read More

Don't waste your money! Select Home Warranty will find any way possible to deny a claim and/or pay as minimal as possible. I recently had a claim with them for my AC and the work was $1600.+ , they will direct you to the very fine print on things that are not covered or reasons they are not covered. The fine print basically excludes just about everything. I paid the work out of pocket and after numerous calls and requests to speak to management they only paid $150 towards the works, yes $150! (Remember the work was over $1600.) And they took over 45 days to issue a check. Customer service is a joke, I asked to speak to a manager and I was transferred to someone else who sounded like he...
