In exchange for a $75 administration fee, they also offer a pro-rated refund if the initial 30 days have expired.

Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

I initially purchased 10 years (because of discount) from this company but so glad that I switched to 1 year as I am not sure if their service is good or not. I have a few claims in this year so far none of my claim is covered. There are a lot of fine prints. For example, your Air Conditioner needs certified professionals maintain it every year to make it covered. They do not cover roof for corners, on the garage part, etc. (there are about 25 lists not covered). Finally, I have a leaking claim. After about 3 weeks, no one showed up. The plumbers they asked me to contact said they have unpaid balance so they won't take the work order. The company representative have very bad service just... Read More

The contractor was excellent, very thorough and honest. They called me in advance to let me know they were on their way. It makes a huge difference when a company provides added details to ensure you can be present when the contractor is on their way.

My most recent claim was handled well by Select Home Warranty. It's been a good experience. I submit my claims over the phone and the response is usually prompt. The contractors that have come have been really cooperative.

My wife recently filed a claim online for our dryer and the process was very easy. They had to order parts which kept me out of a dryer for a week, but other than that it wasn’t too bad. Their technician had excellent service and they usually take no longer than a day to contact us.

Terrible coverage. Always lame excuses not to repair due to "Policy", although not substantiated by "Policy". Even when I tried to cancel the policy, spoke with Edward, who was extremely RUDE, talked over me, and refused to disclose the name of his supervisor, continued to talk over me and being rude and condescending. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

The contractor that Select Home Warranty arranged to address our heat pump issue showed up promptly, was very thorough, professional, and friendly. He resolved our issue in a timely manner and gave an overall evaluation of our HVAC system.

I've been with Select Home Warranty for three years. Recently, I had an issue with my air conditioner and I submitted the claim over the phone. The customer service reps I dealt with and the contractors that came were fine.

Print read their terms. They do not cover labor on any repairs and make you have three years of records to approve a repair. Even if you just purchased the home. Plus terrible customer service and communication.

My experience with Select Home Warranty has been positive. The contractors are very professional and the service provided is exceptional. The peace of mind that I receive in being a member is great. I know if any mechanical system in my home needs repair or replacement, I am protected.

Everything has been positive with Select Home Warranty. My air conditioner was broken and I filed a claim online with them. I also had a couple of interactions with the SHW representatives and they were nice. The contractors they sent were very nice and did a good job.
