We have had AHS for approx. 5 years and have had good experiences for the most part. The one thing I would comment is we have had a few instances where a contractor was assigned the work order and then complained to us about the $$ AHS allows for the job vs the real world costs. Truly I don't care, as that's between AHS and the contractors in the network. Also, we have been turned away by a few contractors that said they didn't cover our area, and I don't really understand nor appreciate this, as again, that's not my issue, that's an AHS issue. I have been a customer for 9 years. Although the service has not always been efficient, my appliances and systems have always been fixed. I was shocked to receive a letter telling me that my premium will double as of June 1, 2017 because of too many service calls. WHAT A JOKE! A request for a service call for a non working oven was placed on 11/19/16. As of 3/17/17 , a full 4 months later and 12 service calls they agreed to replace it. YAY but I m being penalized for them taking 12 service calls to resolve the problem. They are forcing me to look elsewhere.
Buyer Beware. Speechless... but you must know!!! I have been a customer for 9 years... and always an issue of some sort but this one is the last. Customer service repeats themselves with their policy disclaimer. AHS Service technician network don't care about their quality of service because its a warranty call - they just keep ordering this part, that part... that's not fixing it... which takes 5-7 days to receive parts each order... so 2 weeks later believing its fixed, it's still not cooling - I called service tech directly but closed 330p on Fridays and not open weekends, and no emergency line to call. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Each call I have wasted over an hour with hang ups, giving all details of needed repairs and no resolution ever. Don't use this nightmare of a company. You will regret it for sure.
I have been without a working dishwasher for the past YEAR and a half!!! They keep sending techs out to the house. They keep repairing with new parts. It keeps breaking after ONE not even complete wash!!! They keep repeating this process, but will not replace the dishwasher. I am not going to continue with them this year! The first customer service rep that I spoke to was helpful and she was kind and understanding. Good Job Chelsea!! Then when a supervisor didn't call me back after the allotted time, I called them back. I used to have AHS few years back and they sucked as they always gave excuses for replacements & each call meant each single repair. However, I had them since last year and the they have improved much. They havent tried cutting corners and their technicians/plumbers have gotten better with their customer service. This time you can have a single call ($75 visit) for multiple plumbing or multiple related issues. They did increase the monthly payment but I am glad they improved the service too.
American Home Shield was recommended by a friend. I am so glad I listened so far they have been very responsive and issues have been handled promptly
AHS told this year, I would have to pay more for my contact,(Iv'e been with them 16 years) because i used them to much last year. They were small jobs. Remote for ceiling fan, toilet flap, and smoke alarm which I had to pay everything because it was'nt completely broken, it kept going off 2 oclock in the morning. I figured 10.00 maybe 20.00 dollars more a month. My monthly payment was $45.99. Now they wanted $99.99!!!!!

Called them for a plumbing problem they were fast to get back to me but the plumber that came was not local they cut the hole in the wall and left to get approval. The plumber said that the job required moving pipes to the tune of $485 above what AHS covered (which was not true). 3 weeks later the wall was still not fixed with the plumber saying he needed to order parts. My husband called the Emergency Plumbing to see what was going on and the guy hung up on him. Tired of waiting we called a local plumber who came out the same day did the job for $169 with out modifying any pipes. We called back AHS to cancel the plumber and find out about getting the wall patched which took them 2 more... Read More
